How They Work

Invisalign and ClearCorrect aligners work by adjusting the position of your teeth in small increments. Every two weeks, a new position is reached and a new aligner is worn to bring your teeth into the next position. Each aligner brings your smile closer to its final optimal position, which is often achieved after about 12 months and sometimes as soon as 6 months.

To get started, we’ll give you a full exam and make sure you’re a good candidate for Invisalign or ClearCorrect. If you have severe crowding or teeth that haven’t fully erupted, braces may be more appropriate. If clear aligners are the best treatment for you, we’ll then take impressions of your teeth so an alignment plan for your smile can be developed. We’ll have your first set of aligners crafted according to this plan. You’ll wear the first pair for two weeks. At first, they’ll feel very snug. This is intentional and will cause your teeth to ease into position over the two-week period. Then it will be time for your next pair of aligners! This process will continue for the duration of your treatment, with follow-up visits scheduled about every four weeks throughout.

Invisalign vs. ClearCorrect

Most people have heard of Invisalign, but at Cameron Dental Studio we offer another choice of brand in addition to Invisalign – ClearCorrect. Both brands give great results and operate similarly, so it’s up to personal preference as to which one you use.

If you prefer to go with a name with which you’re well familiar, you may opt for Invisalign, the industry forerunner with widespread popularity. Though less well-known, ClearCorrect provides wonderful customer service and offers more treatment plan flexibility.

Retainer Replacement

No matter which form of orthodontic treatment you have done, you’ll need to wear a retainer regularly afterwards to keep your smile in its ideal position. If you lose your retainer, it’s important to get it replaced so you can resume wear right away. At Cameron Dental Studio, we’re happy to take care of this for you, even if you originally got your retainer from another provider.
